This one seems to be a bit different from the one I own, the sleeve's layout looks being done a lot more professional.
I can't figure out what 'OVA' stands for.[/QUOTE]

OVA is Original Video Animation. It's the term for any anime released video-exclusively, like Giant Robo, Magic User's Club, or the Petit Evangelion special.

So, it turns out that I need a capture card and professional software, so the earliest I can get you guys these episodes is...er, Christmas. In the meantime, feel free to graze over this upload, supplied by the wonderful Maiyeng:

For what? To create videos from DVDs? Wouldn't it be easier, cheaper and more useful to just add a DVD player to your computer?

I have captured DVDs this way, using free software.

I think she's capturing from VHS. There should be free software to do the processing though, like VirtualDubMod.

Aaah I see!

Fauna, that's the software I've used as well. :)

VirtualDubMod? I'll try and look for it in the morning; I tried downloading a copy of it earlier, but it required I insert a certain disc. Would it work just with an s-video cable connected through a 15-point jack?

The 15-point jack is probably a 15 pin D-sub connection for VGA, which is output only.

To record VHS video onto your PC, you'll need an analog capture card. It'll come with capture software to record stuff, but it'll probably create massive MPG files (like 35 MB per minute). That's where VirtualDubMod comes in - it compresses the video down to AVI files (like 10 MB per minute) and you can resize it and crop the black borders etc.

Recording VHS indeed needs a TV capture card. I used such a card to capture game videos using the S-video port.

Well, at least I only bought the 15-point jack for a dollar...

I might just look for something at Staples that comes with a capture card and software. There was one called Roxia, but it sold out a week after I first found it. I hate to keep you guys waiting... :(
