I kind of figured it is the better deal. It is way cheaper too! The only drawback I can see is the lack of the first two episodes. It would be nice if Madman would release the bonus disc separately and then my set would be complete. :)

I have the first 2 episodes in .avi format, in Japanese, without subtitles. The quality is the same as the screenshots here. If you are interested, just send me a private message ;)

So they have torrents for the 1980s sub version? (official sub or fan sub)

I haven't seen any torrents for a subbed version official or otherwise. I imagine due to the difficulty of getting a Japanese version no fansub group has ever made a release for it.

I ended up downloading a torrent for the 80's version. It had two Japanese episodes and the rest was English

I am pretty sure the Australian Madman DVD was the source of the torrent as they included the episodes in Japanese, more as a sample of what the Japanese was like, and the obvious differences between the Japanese and English versions of the episodes.

As for the 60's series, I have never seen a torrent for it. I know Madman has released dvds for it as well, and I know they are easily avaliable to buy.

I agree! I would like the episode list for Jetter Mars. Also if Youtube had them in english that would save me a whole lotta moneys!
