LOL! Don't feel inadequate! Remember, this is just the first 23 episodes - we still need to figure out the last 27 or so and get 'em subbed. And I'm curious to see the Japanese version as well - I just figure this could help a good bit of the ways and let everyone see what's already out there. ^.^

I have a request: try to read the text in the frames of Atom's HUD that occur in #9 Franken. These show the full names of the kids on the bus. I tried, but they were very poor quality even though the image's native format was 720x480. I am really only interested in Shibugaki's full name. I tried sharpening, enhancing the contrast, etc, but the letters are still unreadable. I suppose the only reason I can 'read' Shibugaki is because I know that is what it says.

Try these (high quality .BMP's so may take a sec to download) - these are as clear as I could make them and straight from the DVD - some are definitely readable, but it's still difficult:

Full name looks like "Ben Shibugaki" to me fromt the second and third shots (3rd was very hard to get because it's super brief)...

Hey, sgupta, let me know once you're all done creating the ISO files. That way, I get an idea of how much space you'll be needing.

AstroRex, all 6 ISO's come in at 29.1 GB.

All 23 AVI files come in at 11.9 GB. (I figure it probably makes sense to share these separately as anyone who wants all of them can just download the folder).

So about 40 GB for both versions...41 would be on the safe side.

As I said, just be sure with people downloading you don't run into any crazy bandwidth quota overages or anything ^.^. I greatly appreciate the offer to host (assuming you're definitely able - if not, we'll find another way) as this'll make it easier for people to get them.

Got the first volume today. Haven't watched it yet, but I'm going to soon. It came with a trading card!

The special features are as follows: 7 character profiles, opening and ending sequences without credits, a couple of character videos, and a segment about aircars.

Yes! Please check your private messages for the FTP instructions. I have unlimited space on my web server, so upload the files to your heart's content. Please upload everything to the "astroboy" directory, as stated in the instructions. Send me a private message in case you have questions. I set up an ftp account for you on the server today so you should be good to go.

Sweet. Uploading now - starting with the AVI's and will do the ISO's last. PM'ed you also. This'll take prolly a week or so folks as my upstream is pretty narrow and this is a lot of data, but it's going. ^.^

Got enough space free on my drives to start decrypting and reencoding the first volume. I'm going to try to remove the slight grainy look during the encode. After that, I just need to find someone well versed in moonspeak who's willing to translate.

Nice, Bad Username. I'm curious - does grainyness you speak of seem on par with the shots of the Korean release or different?
