Let it snow--NOT!

Postby jeffbert » 16 years ago

Here in Hanover PA, it rarely snows before mid January; yet, right now, there are 15 + inches of the white stuff outside. :santa: The snow is even deeper SE of here in Montgomery County MD, where I spent most of my life. My poor brother works in landscaping, & will be out there toiling away, clearing snow from a hospital parking lot.

Hooray! It is snowing a lot where I am in Philadelphia PA. max. 20 inches or so! My lil bro loves to play in the snow so i go in with him. Plus there has not been one inch on the ground on Christmas for about 3-6 years! In my opinion, Don't be upset. This is a good thing. It will melt soon. Just enjoy it while it lasts. :)

We've had snow for a good two weeks already around here, and we've had a day where it snowed as much (or almost as much?) as what you've had. It was nothing too bad for us because we're well equipped to handle it.

We've had a few snowless (is that a word?) Christmas in the past years, so I'm glad we do have snow now.

What's bad isn't the snow, it's the cold! It's never that cold while it is snowing... but in the last week, it's been chilling, as in -15°C (5°F), sometimes with quite a bit of wind on top of that. I took a walk last evening and it must have been -20°C (-4°F)! It's going to get worst in January...

I really feel for your brother jeffbert. I did plowing quite a few years ago with my brother when we were hit with 100 inches of snow when it snowed 14 days straight. It was no fun. Just tell him that it will be over soon. lol

Right about now he is clearing the snow from the hospital's rooftop helipad.

My main objection to this weather is that I am ill-equipped to deal with it. :hyo:

Please tell me he has more than just a shovel...

Yes, I think that was the difference.

I learned today that there were places where there was like 2 feet of snow! :o hmy: That would be something even here!

Hopefully everything will go back to normal soon... and you keep just enough snow for Christmas to make it beautiful.

Even in Europe there is a lot of snow!

I really wanted a yummy Baconator, but the Wendy's parking lot was a mess. Why do they leave the so-called handicapped spaces covered with snow? It seems these are often the last to be plowed! So I went to Hardee's & had a similar meal; I was not thrilled with the Fries, though.
