Astroboy Dvd Sales are good not only in the Usa. Thanks to the Internet i can show you Canadian top six (I found it accidentally when i was searching something about astroboy with google):

1 - New Moon
2 - Ninja Assassin
3 - Princess and The Frog
4 - Twilight
5 - Astro Boy
6 - 2012.

Astro is conquering North America!

I don't know if the successful DVD sales will help bring about a sequel, but it doesn't hurt.

I have a question about this. Maybe some of you know how it works. For the movie I presume Imagi bought the Astroboy copyright for doing this movie. Now that Imagi is no more active who the heck owns the copyright?

Well, I thought Imagi wasn't dead they're just "outsourcing their animation." I know that's pretty much saying they're on life support, but if the movie's doing well enough for a sequel, is it possible someone could come in and give them another chance?

More good news - Astro Boy has debuted on the top 10 list for Video On Demand. Here's a link to the list:

I notice that Princess and the Frog isn't on that list at all... :D

Well, Fox was better-reviewed, which gives you an idea of the taste of your average professional movie critic :shifty: I thought the film was tacky and weird myself.

sales figures for DVDs and other such merchandise are never released to the public

I can easily get the sales figures. For example these are the sales figures for the United States: in March Astroboy has sold 250.430 units, grossing exactly 4.630.451 million dollars. I thought it would have done better because, unfortunately, these are quite bad numbers.

Well, Fox was better-reviewed

Yes, but this is a box office failure too.
