Okay, that's cool -- of course you DO realize that some day YOU will be 25 or 34 or 56 years old too, and you'll hear the same thing from someone the age you are now. It sounds impossible, but it's fascinatingly true!

Here's the thing though -- I've felt that way about Astro since I first saw him (and I was 10 1/2 at the time). There are certain advantages/disadvantages to being a child, and being an adult. One thing Astro has going for him is that he can actually CHOOSE which he wants to be (whereas we all start out as children and move in one direction - towards maturation and death).

Not all of us are stupid - but there certainly are a great many who annoy the muffins out of me (but I bet they were just as bad as kids! :lol :)

Lol aw come oooon Cora's not that bad. She's a lot stronger willed than most girls Astro's been hooked up with over the last 50 years

...Hey, he's been through a lot of girlfriends hasn't he? o_o

I have another theory LittleAcorn: I believe Astro Boy will marry someone more powerful than he is. Don't ask me why -- that's just my "vision" -- see, if he married a defenseless woman, she'd be a target (think of Lois Lane and Superman). I believe Dr. Tenma would have programmed Astro to be attracted to a woman who would be more or less his equal.

I'm one of those people who specializes in guessing the endings to movies, books, etc. So, I've had this idea about Astro Boy since I was a little girl.

I picture her being a kind of "hybrid" person/robot with extraordinary abilities (some similar, some different from Astro's). They'd meet under a set of circumstances I dreamt up and **boing!!** that's it! Of course there's a whole story going on behind this. One of these days I'll write it up. I really though SOMEBODY would have tackled the subject -- heck -- I've got their kids named and in careers -- the whole deal. See what happens when you're favorite "hero" vanishes for almost half a lifetime? You make up you OWN happy ending.

I like Cora. Considering the role she had to play, she's very personable. She's a lot more likable than, say, the Viking girl in How To Train Your Dragon. I could barely stand her.

Nope, I have no problems with Cora at all. But then I don't feel any jealousy towards her. :whistling:

I think she's cool and a good girlfriend for Astro.

I also think that Astro (the movie Astro) being attracted to another robot would be as problematic as his being attracted to a human. Because he's not entirely a robot, thanks to the Blue Core. He's a robot with a human soul - which would explain his attraction to Cora. That, to me, is the angst of being Astro. He's neither one nor the other, and so his allegiances are often in conflict with each other. Plus he feels the pull of forbidden love. Very angsty and very interesting IMO.

Speaking of Cora, I too had the thought that perhaps the moviemakers deliberately derived her name from "core". Guess they felt that Cora and Astro really are made for each other. :)

I'm sorry. I didn't mean anything. It's just that, well, because of certain problems that I don't want to go into, I've lost all faith in adults and I'm also scared of High School next fall, and no one understands me, especially grown ups right now. You understand, don't you?
You're not a joke, you fit right in!
So shake it off, and give a grin. Don't be afraid to stand your ground! Crazy, noisy BIZARRE Town!

You know what? At the point in life where you are at now, this is perfectly normal.

In fact, if you DIDN'T have these problems, you would need to be worried. It's just a mental phase your hormones put you through during your most stressful years (aka - puberty/high school/so on) that are affected by things like peer pressure, media, and crap like that. The fact that you feel as though you cannot rely on adults is a normal thought process that develops that will, whether you like it or not, pass.

...oh yeah, did I mention I'm majoring in psychology?

I think the only reason Astro would want to be grow up would come from him wanting to be more human, he'd be well aware that being a robot he will never grow up and he'd know that only humans grow up.

I think they show him wanting be more like a human boy in a couple of episodes, it's just like him wanting to be somthing he can't. That said he is the greatest robot in the world and can do things to no other robot, and espicially no human, could ever do. And he would have to be satisfied with that and happy to be a super-powered boy robot forever.

Cora could fit the profile!...Er...she just needs to get vaporized by an identical Peacekeeper and BAM Cora with jetboots and butt machine guns! :lol: They'd fight like that couple in Hancock. Cough cough, but to be serious I agree with you a little, i think Nikki was a little like that wasn't she? though she wasn't strong she was just a bomb. o.o;

And that's cool thinking up a happy ending, everytime there's a bad ending to a series it bugs me. I hate sadness.

Kids names...can Astro have children? o_o
