Well, I'm the daughter of a redhead - actually I LOVE calling it "ginger" and you know what, I have ALWAYS been super disappointed I didn't inherit her color (although as a baby my hair was reddish).
It's all in how you take what you've been given, I guess! But it's really a blessing to be "naturally unique" from the color to the freckles. You simply don't see as many people with that color combination, so you're going stand out. Creepy people might tease you, but it's most likely because out of jealousy. Acorn are you the only member of your family with ginger hair? Here's another benefit - my mother is 85, and there's still the slightest whisper of redness to her hair (almost a champagne color) - when the gray starts to arrive, you'll still look GREAT!
Personally I used to really HATE having naturally curly hair ( and having so many women come up and pull the curls crying "this is NATURAL? You're so LUCKY!") I used to fight like mad to de-curl it, because - what's more popular is long, smooth flowing hair, no matter WHAT color, and I got tired of that, so now I'm at peace with it. Oh, yeah, and they also came out with this neat little tool called a ceramic flat iron. BYE BYE CURLZ!!
NOW Imagine Astro as a GINGER GUY!!!! C'mon Acorn, you can fix him up!!
